The Role of Essential Fatty Acids in Health and Disease

All fatty acids can be used by the body, but only two are measured important and both are polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA): linoleic acid, the omega-6 fatty acid and alpha-linolenic acid, the omega-3 fatty acid.
